Time/Date: Sunday June 18th 1-4pm (3 hrs)
Cost: $70 per person
What you'll get: a circular loom set, a loom needle, a yarn needle, a pompom maker, a roll of thick yarn and plenty of snacks, tea and coffee.
Make your very own slouchy beanie to help on those cold winter nights. You'll learn the basics of circular loom beanie knitting, including casting on and off, creating a brim and making and attaching a pom pom. The set of looms comes with four sizes. We'll be using the biggest loom, but the smaller ones can be used to make beanies for children, babies and pets. Once you've learnt the art of the basic slouchy beanie, you can experiment with levels of slouchiness and different coloured stripes and pom poms. Your looms can also be used to make tube scarves using the same technique, which is just an added bonus!
You'll need to choose your primary beanie colour before the workshop. Choose from maroon, grey, charcoal, cream, turquoise green and mustard yellow.
This workshop is taught by Tina Moshkanbaryans, friend of The Corner Store Gallery. Tina is a high school learning support teacher, who moved from Sydney to Orange in January 2017 and is trying to find ways to cope with the Orange winter. A self-taught beanie maker, she wants everyone to experience the same satisfaction of a self-made warm head.
PLEASE NOTE: due to the nature of these workshops we cannot refund your ticket if cancelled after 09/06/2017, however, we are more than happy for you to pass your ticket onto someone else.
