Mini Series Art Prize
Submit 3 artworks for consideration - finalists will be exhibited at the gallery in October - the winner will be announced on Opening Night and will receive a rent-free exhibition with us in 2020!
The Corner Store Gallery would like to announce an exciting new Art Prize in 2019. We’re on the lookout for new and exciting artists to exhibit in our beautiful space. Artists are invited to submit 3 artworks as a small body of work to be judged by a panel of experts. The winner of our Mini Series Art Prize will receive a rent free solo exhibition with us here at The Corner Store Gallery in 2020. This competition is open to emerging and professional artists from Australia who have not had a solo exhibition with us before.
We want you to summarise your art practice in 3 artworks - they can be any medium. Mediums can also vary within the series, however, we encourage you to put forward a COHESIVE series, for example: your series might include 1 painting, 1 mixed media work and 1 ceramic piece all exploring the same theme.
Your artworks can be any size, please keep in mind the size of our gallery and the fact that we need to display 3 artworks by several artists, so larger works will be accepted within reason. If you have any questions regarding the size of your artworks please call Madi on 0448246209.
Entry fee: $80 per artist with fees contributing to the cost of running the exhibition & opening night catering. Entry forms must be completed by the closing date of September 1st 2019. Late submissions will not be accepted. Exhibition dates: The works will be exhibited at The Corner Store Gallery from Wednesday October 2nd to Saturday October 12th 2019. The opening night will take place on Thursday October 3rd from 6pm, the winner will be announced on the night.
Submissions are due by September 1st at midnight.
Our Judges: Madeline Young-Holborow (Gallery Director), Tim Winters (Artist), Pip Brett (Owner of The Sonic and Jumbled Online) and Cecilie Knowles (Public Engagement and Education Officer, Orange Regional Gallery).
You will be judged on the following qualities:
