Loom Weaving Workshop
When: Saturday May 25th, 12-4pm (4 hrs)
Cost: $140 per person
What You’ll Get: An Australian Made Loom to take home, yarn needles, lots of different yarn, fibres and other goodies to add to your weave, tea, coffee and light refreshments.
What to Bring: All materials will be provided but you’re more than welcome to bring along anything you might like to include in your piece.
Woven Wall Hangings can be so versatile and beautiful!. All different kinds of materials, fibres and other objects can be used to create your very own one-of-a-kind textile artwork! There are so many techniques to use to create all kinds of textures and patterns. This workshop is for beginners but will also be great fun for someone who's tried their hand at weaving before. You'll be taught several different weaving techniques that create different textural effects including tabby, rya and soumak. You can see pictures from one of our previous weaving workshops here.
This workshop is taught by Madeline Young-Holborow, The Corner Store Gallery director. Madeline has a degree in Fine Arts and over 10 years experience of teaching art and craft workshops and classes.
