Join gallery director and practicing abstract artist Madeline Young-Holborow for a relaxing 3 hour workshop of watercolour and mixed media abstraction. This workshop is designed to be a stress-free evening of learning and experimentation. You’ll be given step-by-step instructions to create your own abstract watercolour artworks. Work at your own pace and take home a new skill!
We’ll be drawing inspiration form colours, patterns and shapes in nature. You’ll be provided with leaves, bark, seed pods, branches and other materials to inspire your abstract compositions.
The workshop will begin with a series of mark making activities using watercolour, ink and other materials such as charcoal. You’ll also select a range of colours to make swatches to guide your abstract artworks.
We’ll provide all the materials, but feel free to bring your own if you have something you’d like to practice with.
