2D Felted Wall Works

What to bring: bring a picture for inspiration, you can also include other fibres or embellishments such as silk, beads and yarns for added texture; an apron and a towel or two to absorb water; bring your own lunch.
What you’ll get: all workshop equipment and woollen materials, morning and afternoon tea.
Design and create a fun, colourful and unique sculptural textile artwork using pure merino wool. Complete a piece to take home in one day. Textile artist Denise Lithgow will teach the process of making and moulding felt into innovative forms and shapes. You will learn how to mould felt into shapes, then translate these into deeply textured wall art.
Enthusiasm and imagination are the best ingredients to bring along to this workshop. A progressive range of skills will be developed so you can feel confident to design your own textile artwork. This is a fun and exciting workshop for anyone interested in colour and sculpture. Suitable for all skill levels.

Denise Lithgow is one of Australia’s leading textile artists. Her 2D felt pictures and sculptured felt vessels are colourful, vibrant semi abstracts inspired by her love of the landscape. Denise exhibits regularly in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. She has won numerous prizes, is published regularly at home and abroad and continues to search for new forms of expression.
