Learn to Spin Workshop with Dhyan Blore
When: Saturday July 27 & 28 12-4pm (2 days of 4 hour sessions)
Price: $320 per person for full weekend
What to bring: Wear flat or low -heeled shoes. Workshop attendees are welcome to bring your own fibres.
What you’ll get: Make your own handspun wool yarn from a natural wool fleece. You will be shown how to spin on a lovely wooden spinning wheel in a small group setting. Handspun fibre can be used for knitting, weaving, macramé or crocheting. All spinning wheels, equipment and fibres provided. Workshop numbers limited to 3 spinners. Afternoon tea provided.
This weekend is an introduction to the soothing pastime of spinning your own handspun yarn. You will learn how to select and prepare wool fleece for spinning and how to use and maintain a spinning wheel. This is a small group workshop ensuring you will receive plenty of individual tuition. Samples of sheep, alpaca, mohair wool and silk will be available showing how hand dying and plying gives luxurious yarn for craft projects and handmade garments.
Ewe Spin Fibres is run by small acreage homesteader and fibre crafts maker Dhyan Blore. Dhyan has been spinning luxury fibres for over 20 years and is a self-confessed natural fibre lover. Dhyan is an experienced Workshop presenter, teacher and an accredited adult educator.
