A Catch Up with Ellie Hannon

Worry Dolls from Ellie's exhibition "On My Way" at The Corner Store Gallery, October 2014

Earlier this week I visited my old friend and past exhibitor of The Corner Store Gallery, Ellie Hannon.  I met her in the new studio at Newcastle Community Arts Centre where she is preparing for forthcoming exhibitions and market stalls.  You might remember the clay Worry Dolls displayed in the window during On My Way in October last year?  Well she's making more of them as pendants for jewelry, you can see her painting faces on them below.  She's also making small planters and death rattles for the Hunt & Gather Markets and Olive Tree Markets in Newcastle.  Below you can see Ellie during the creative process and some similar finished products.
