Allison Taplin is an Australian landscape painter based in the Macedon Ranges region of Victoria. Known for her richly textured oil paintings, she captures the beauty, light and atmosphere of the Australian landscape through expansive skies, rolling hills, towering trees and open fields. Her distinctive use of colour and texture creates a sense of calm, inviting viewers to pause and connect with the natural world.
Allison's artistic journey began as a form of healing following the loss of her son. Painting became a source of comfort and reflection, and she continues to create in his memory from her intimate workspace, Little Leif Studio. Alongside her art practice, Allison works full-time as a registered nurse, drawing ongoing inspiration from the diverse landscapes that surround her.
Her paintings explore both the vastness and quiet beauty of regional Australia. Layered with texture and infused with light, each work reflects a deep appreciation for place and the restorative power of nature. Through her practice, Allison seeks to create artworks that bring a sense of warmth, stillness and connection into the home.
