Narelle Higson, Promise, 2026
Oil pastel and cold wax on board, 27x27cm framed
Contact us about personal payment plans and Layby.
Narelle Higson is a contemporary Australian artist known for her expressive oil pastel drawings. Working intuitively, she layers oil pastel with cold wax to create rich texture, depth, and luminosity, revealing intricate surfaces through a process of layering and scraping back.
Inspired by the Australian landscape, her work explores the interplay of light, colour, and movement across grasses, bushland, flora, and water. After a career in health and children’s television, Higson returned to full-time art practice, developing a distinctive style that has gained national recognition. She has been a finalist in several juried exhibitions, with works held in private and civic collections in Australia and internationally.
My studio is my sanctuary, albeit a messy one. Drawing with oil pastels feels like a form of meditation, especially when the outside world feels uncertain or overwhelming.
“Where the Light Breaks Through” is inspired by childhood memories of long car trips with my mum, travelling through the Australian landscape in search of wildflowers. Those journeys taught me to slow down, embrace solitude, and find beauty in the smallest details.
I’m particularly drawn to the shifting light at the end of the day, how it warms some areas while cooling others. In this body of work, I explore that quiet interplay of light and colour, creating a sense of calm, balance, and reflection.

Dee Roberts, Michelia Maudiae Blossom
Oil on board, 30x26cm framed
Contact us about personal payment plans and Layby.
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Central Tablelands, Oberon bursts into colour each spring following its harsh winter. The Michelia Maudiae in my garden had almost died in the drought four years ago. The purity of the white blossom prompted me to create a dark setting, in a nod to Tenebrism, painting from life, using natural studio light in this classic still life painting. The timber panel is from a discarded pine chest of drawers, adding to the mystique of this heavily scented blossom.
A full time artist, Dee Roberts was raised on a rural property in Central NSW. Dee has an extensive association with the visual arts, including drawing, ceramics, print making, painting at National Art School, TAFE, Willoughby Art Centre. Dee has a Bachelor of applied Science, a long term Conservator career at Sydneys Powerhouse Museum, contract exhibition work at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, NSW Parliament house & Sydney University Art Gallery.

Amanda Ogilby, Ease
Oil on canvas, 28x28cm framed
Contact us about personal payment plans and Layby.
Amanda Ogilby is a Margaret River artist known for her atmospheric and refined still life oil paintings. Her work balances a modern aesthetic with traditional techniques, showcasing a strong foundation in representational realism and a sensitivity to light, tone, and detail. Amanda’s artwork may include carefully chosen homewares, florals, and seasonal produce to create quietly evocative compositions with a sense of calm and presence.
Inspired by a creative upbringing and a return to painting later in life, Amanda now works exclusively in oils—drawn to their depth and subtlety. Her practice is both contemplative and intuitive, shaped by a deep appreciation for beauty in the everyday.
Life is chaotic and challenging at times. Ease represents a way of intention leading into 2026. Akin to the complexities in painting this artwork, with its reflections, distortions and intricacies of the fruit, the purpose is to acknowledge and breathe. To live with the tangles that life brings whilst choosing to focus on letting the simple things shine. Remembering they are still there, waiting to be appreciated and held close.

Her work has been exhibited extensively across Australia, including two recent solo exhibitions and numerous curated group shows.
Linda’s current body of work focuses on modern still life painting, where she explores the quiet intimacy of domestic space. Her compositions are minimal and restrained, offering a contemplative study of everyday objects, cups, bowls, vessels, rendered with subtle texture and carefully controlled colour. These paintings honour the overlooked beauty of the ordinary, transforming familiar forms into visual meditations on presence, memory, and stillness.
Through her contemporary still life practice, Linda Kruger creates a gentle tension between simplicity and emotion. The pared-back aesthetic and modern shapes invite viewers to slow down and notice the quiet details of home life. Her work sits within the lineage of still life while offering a fresh, modern interpretation, deeply personal, visually refined, and resonant with the rhythms of daily living.

Jason McDonald enjoyed a successful career in Sydney as an award-winning graphic designer before returning to the family farm near Mudgee where he grew up surrounded by nature. His absolute affinity with the bush shines through all his art practice and has won him much critical acclaim. Capturing the minute detail of plants and creatures through the eye of the lens, McDonald truly accentuates beauty in a micro world.
In this collection The Roo, The Magpie & Friends, Jason presents a delightful portrait series of his orphan animals - Loppy the kangaroo, Squeaker the magpie, Holly the honeyeater and Little Pipit. All rescued on the farm, they soon ingratiated into both home and heart providing pure talent for a quick photographer. We follow their free for all amongst the memorabilia of the lovingly restored Shearer’s Cottage Jason calls home. The stylised monochromatic compositions contrasted with colourful vintage objects and fresh cut flowers from his garden lead us to examine nostalgic notions of childhood, memory, colour and play.

Madeleine Winch is an accomplished and esteemed Australian artist who has exhibited both nationally and internationally, with more than 40 solo exhibitions across her three-decade career. Her work is held in the National Gallery of Victoria and is represented in several public collections, including Orange Regional Gallery, Wagga Wagga Regional Gallery, NERAM, Dubbo Regional Gallery, and Macquarie University. Winch has been a finalist in many of Australia’s most prestigious art awards, including the Archibald Prize (2017), the Sulman Prize (1995), the Dobell Drawing Award (1993, 2000), the Portia Geach Memorial Award (1996, 1997, 2004, 2008), the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize (2016, 2021, 2022), and the Salon des Refusés (2019). She was the winner of the Kedumba Drawing Award in 2004.
Among the various genres she explores, Winch often returns to the humble kitchen table as a recurring subject. She is drawn to simple, everyday objects - kitchen utensils, fresh fruit, and vegetables gathered from her local market - finding enduring appeal in their forms and bold colours. Many of these items come from her personal collection and carry particular memories, while others are imagined purely for their compositional value.
Winch finds joy in the act of making: composing, selecting colour, adding and subtracting elements until the painting gradually reveals itself. Her process embraces a sense of play, allowing endless possibilities to unfold within each work.

Christine Moult, Red Dish, 2026
Oil on board, 26.5×20.5cm framed
Christine Moult is a Sydney-based artist working on Gamaragal land, known for her expressive alla prima oil paintings on board.
Largely self-taught, Christine brings a fresh, instinctive approach to her work, shaped by her background in food and design. She draws inspiration from the everyday, capturing fleeting moments of light, shadow and atmosphere that often go unnoticed, using loose, confident brushstrokes and a refined, harmonious palette.
"Painting, for me, is a bit like cooking," Christine says. "Instead of flavours and textures, I'm playing with objects, light and colour, moving elements around until everything feels balanced. I love painting the simple objects that have surrounded me throughout my life, as they bring back cherished memories of meals shared with family and friends."
Christine has volunteered as a guide at the Art Gallery of New South Wales since 2010, and her work has been selected for numerous exhibitions, including the National Emerging Art Prize (2023), the Affordable Art Fair Brisbane and Sydney with Aspire Gallery (2024), the Incognito Art Show (2023–2026), and Inside This Box at The Corner Store Gallery (2023, 2026), where she has also shown as a Stable Artist (2025/2026).
