Chris de Hoog is an Australian artist based on Wadawurrung Country (Geelong, Victoria), whose layered, expressive paintings draw inspiration from nature, memory, and colour. With a background in graphic design, Chris shifted from commercial work to pursue his passion for painting, leading to a successful first solo exhibition. His intuitive process often begins with leftover paint, building rich textures and unexpected details that celebrate imperfection. Chris rarely works from photos, instead letting ideas evolve organically on the canvas, balancing what to reveal and what to conceal.
