On Saturday we hosted our first Basket Weaving Workshop with local fibre artist Lanny Mackenzie.  Surrounded by mountains of colourful hand dyed raffia we coiled our own vessels.  Everyone made their own unique pieces with the help and expert advice of Lanny and her daughter Jo.  We learnt several different weaving techniques and how to forage our own materials form nature.  Baskets were made, tea and coffee drunk and much fun was had.  Lanny will be back in late Autumn to Winter this year with another fabulous workshop! Madeline Young

The Corner Store Gallery is owned and operated by Madeline Holborow.  Madeline completed a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Newcastle and has since worked as the Artist in Residence at an educational institution from 2010-14.  She has been teaching art and craft workshops for over 7 years and continues to do so in the gallery.  Madeline is interested in all areas of artistic practice and design and hopes to share her interests, through the gallery, with the local community.
