Contact us about personal payment plans and Layby.
Dean Stewart is an artist and designer based in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. Dean’s practice is grounded in the collection, curation and re-purposing of found objects, salvaged materials and discarded remnants into three-dimensional, mixed-media works. His approach acknowledges the origins and material histories of these elements while transforming them into considered contemporary assemblages.
His work is held in private collections in Lennox Head, Ballina, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Oxfordshire, UK. Dean’s most recent solo exhibition, Material Memory, was presented at Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre in late 2025.
This small-format assemblage emerges from Dean's instinctive engagement with found materials, arranging pigmented timber elements through a graphic and spatial eye. Rather than depicting a specific landscape, the work offers a condensed image of the material world around him, where ideas of place, light and memory arise through composition and surface.
