Contact us about personal payment plans and Layby.

Gabi is a Korean-born, Sydney-based artist working with Minhwa, traditional Korean folk painting. Her practice draws on Minhwa’s symbolic language, historically rooted in everyday life and wishes for good fortune, which she reinterprets in a contemporary context.

As an immigrant, Gabi approaches Minhwa as both cultural inheritance and personal narrative. Painting becomes a way to maintain a connection to her homeland while exploring identity, memory, and belonging. Through her work, she reflects on how traditional imagery can continue to carry meaning, offering Minhwa as a living visual language shaped by displacement and hope.
