Jane Chacana is a self taught artist based in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains.
Making art has always been a part of her life from a young age. The process of painting is a form of meditation, the quietening of an often-busy mind, of balancing the hectic pace of daily life with the slowness of creation. She enjoys creating paintings of the local area, both the built and natural environment. Recently her interest has turned to things that we treasure, leading to the collecting and cataloguing of teacups from op shops. Items that would often be kept for a special occasion, suddenly no longer valued.

Artwork is available for collection or shipping after the closing date of the exhibition, March 8th 2026.
