Born in regional WA, and based in Walyalup/Fremantle, Western Australia, Josephine is an emerging artist whose practice explores the sublime aesthetic experiences found in nature—those moments of awe and vulnerability that reveal our interconnectedness with the living world.

This composition features a vase from a WA maker using Goomalling clay. The vase’s speckled surface sparked a conversation with a speckled Crested Tern egg. The egg is from remote regional WA (Jerramungup) and was collected under license in 1965. She gathered the feather grass from along the Swan River near her home. This simple composition invites close attention and speaks to the land, and to the unique beauty of regional Australia’s flora and fauna.

Josephine has won and participated in numerous awards and her work is represented in private collections across Australia, Singapore, the United States and Scotland. An active member of the arts community, she serves as Chair of Regional Arts WA, advocating for the visibility and vitality of regional arts practice. She achieved a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Fine Art Distinction) from Curtin University (2025). Prior to committing to a full-time art practice Josephine held senior positions within the international mining, jewellery and diamond industries.
