Karen Backus grew up and currently lives in rural, northern NSW. She has completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at USQ in Toowoomba majoring in printmaking and drawing. Karen has taught fine art at TAFE and has worked in the Aboriginal communities of Toomelah and Boggabilla. Karen draws inspiration from found objects in her environment. She uses patterns that evoke stories of country vibes and cosy homes.
