I am an emerging artist based in the regional city of Ballarat within the Central Highlands of Victoria. Working predominantly in oils, I paint from my home studio drawing inspiration from the Australian landscape and my local surroundings. Combining observed elements of the landscape with imagined constructs, my artworks embody an aesthetic that blends Australian gothic with a touch of surrealism.

Themes of isolation, the uncanny, and impermanence are prominent throughout my work.

“Down South” explores stillness through subtle surrealism. A local fish and chip shop is reimagined within a minimalist landscape, creating a quiet, contemplative setting. The glowing lights reference the visual language of takeaway culture, while the empty surroundings and winding road evoke solitude and reflection.
