Contact us about personal payment plans and Layby.
Ree Hodges is a Newcastle based abstract artist whose work explores colour, texture, and emotional connection. Inspired by nature, memory, and everyday moments, her practice is intuitive and process driven, focusing on layered mark making and expressive surfaces.
Sunset Dance is a small, textured work inspired by the fleeting movement of light at day’s end. Created using layered paint and oil sticks, the surface holds visible gestures and softness side by side, echoing the way colour shifts as the sun lowers. Warm pinks, earthy browns, and gentle neutrals move across the canvas with a sense of rhythm and ease. The work captures a moment that feels both fleeting and grounding, celebrating the quiet beauty found in slowing down and noticing subtle changes in light and colour.
