Shelley McLean is an award-winning Australian artist based in the foothills of the Southern Highlands, NSW. Surrounded by native bushland, her studio provides constant inspiration for her creative practice. Shelley works across a variety of mediums, including acrylic, oils, and soft pastels.
With a deep appreciation for the Australian landscape, her contemporary interpretations are shaped by personal experience and careful observation. Having lived throughout rural New South Wales, as well as the Sydney and Canberra regions, her work reflects a lifelong connection to diverse environments and a strong sense of place.
Beyond the Pond captures a quiet rural moment, depicting the distinctive light of the Australian countryside. Reflected light and layered distance draw the viewer into the landscape, offering a sense of calm and connection to the land beyond the immediate scene.
