Contact us about personal payment plans and Layby.
Tara Coey is a contemporary Australian landscape artist based in Orange, NSW, in the Central West region. She creates paintings that reflect the quiet rhythms of rural life and the subtle shifts of the seasons. Her work captures small but evocative moments in the landscape – mist softening a dirt road, light glinting across a paddock, or a fence line receding into the distance.
Since returning to painting in 2020, Tara has exhibited across New South Wales and Queensland. She was a finalist in the Corner Store Gallery Mini Series Art Prize (2025), and a finalist with Aspire Gallery's SOLSTICE and FOOT SQUARE exhibitions (2025). She has also exhibited her work at Peisley Street Gallery's OFF THE WALL exhibition (2024–25).
Her background in communications and design informs her careful sense of balance and composition.
This piece titled, 'Moving Forward' builds on her prize-selected works, exploring mist-filled, atmospheric scenes where trees and scrub emerge as silhouettes. A quiet boundary line often runs through the compositions, creating a subtle sense of separation and perspective. Through restrained brushwork and thoughtful detail, Tara invites viewers to pause and reflect on the overlooked beauty of the Australian landscape.
