Madeleine Winch has exhibited nationally and internationally, having had over 40 solo exhibitions. Her work is held in the National Gallery of Victoria and represented in other public collections including Orange Regional Gallery, Wagga Wagga Regional Gallery, NERAM, Dubbo Regional Gallery and Macquarie University. She has been a finalist in major art awards including the Archibald (2017), the Sulman (1995), Dobell Drawing Award (1993, 2000), The Portia Geach Memorial Award (1996, 1997, 2004, 2008), The Doug Moran (2016, 2021, 2022) Salon des Refuses (2019) and was the winner of the Kedumba Drawing Award in 2004.
In current times of global turmoil and uncertainty I cherish the peace of my home and studios, which provide sanctuary in which to reflect and to paint. I find inspiration and beauty in the simplest objects that surround me. My still life works hold references to personal experiences and recollections.
