Fiona Chandler, Love This Coast II, 2026
Watercolour on canvas, 79×63cm framed.
Fiona Chandler is an Australian watercolour artist creating original abstract landscape paintings. With 10 solo exhibitions, more than 80 group shows and several residencies to her name, she champions the often overlooked medium of watercolour, using its translucence and fluidity to capture the shifting essence of the natural world.
Built slowly in layers, her paintings reveal details of nature's structures over time and quickly disappear into private collections in Australia and overseas. In the gallery, they spark shared conversation, memories and ideas. The phrase heard most often in front of her work: "That's not watercolour."
