Geraldine Richards is an Australian landscape artist and Melbourne-based painter whose abstract works explore the feeling of place long after you've left it. Fracturing familiar natural forms into flat planes of colour, graphic shapes and open space, her work draws on a mid-century graphic sensibility to create paintings that are bold, considered and deeply personal. At the heart of it, this is work about memory and landscape. Not documentary, not literal, but the tension between detail and emptiness, between structure and the lyrical moments that arrive during making.

Geraldine holds a Master of Fine Arts from RMIT University and works from her studio on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Country in Melbourne/Naarm. She has exhibited widely across Australia with solo exhibitions at Michael Reid Northern Beaches NSW (2025) and Art at St Francis Melbourne (2023 and 2019), and has been recognised as a finalist in the National Emerging Art Prize 2024, the Ravenswood Australian Women's Art Prize 2023, and the 2026 Tattersall's Club Art Award QLD.
