When traveling into nature, Ann carries a small set of graphite pencils, charcoal, and paints to document what she sees and feels in her art journal. She collects natural elements like sticks and bark, which she uses for mark-making in her studio practice, further bridging the connection between her physical experience in nature and the abstract interpretations that emerge on canvas.
In her studio, Ann expands these journal sketches into larger works, employing automatic and rhythmic drawing techniques to create dynamic, energetic compositions.
