Mischievous is a playful body of work by Bathurst-based artist Yani Lenehan, celebrating the cheeky personality of the Australian magpie. These artworks present magpies not just as native birds, but as lively characters - curious, confident and full of attitude.

Working primarily in oils, Lenehan begins with a detailed drawing and carefully builds layers of colour and tone to create stylised contemporary paintings.
