About Emma
Emma's love of ceramics began in high school, where she completed Ceramics as part of her HSC major works. Her pieces were selected for both ArtExpress and an international student exhibition.
She later built a 25-year career as an Occupational Therapist, working across the disability sector and adult education. After experiencing burnout, Emma returned to creative practice and quickly rediscovered her passion for clay.
A finalist in The Corner Store Gallery's Mini Series Art Prize in 2023, Emma is largely self-taught and continues to develop her practice through courses at the National Art School in Sydney.
Today, she creates functional and sculptural ceramic works while running workshops, classes and retreats that encourage women to slow down, reconnect and experience the therapeutic benefits of working with clay. Her ceramics are stocked in a number of galleries and retail spaces throughout New South Wales.
