Allis Hamilton is a creature of nature who creates music, poetry and visual art in the Australian bush. Her art has been finalist in the 2025 Waverley Woollahra 9” x 5” Landscape Art Prize; 2019 Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing; semifinalist in the 2022 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and longlisted for the 2019 Delphian Gallery Open Call (UK).
She was a finalist in the 2022 Montreal International Poetry Prize (Canada); and in 2024 was long-listed in the Bridport Poetry Prize (UK), and she had two poems long-listed in the National Poetry Competition (UK). Her poetry has appeared in Australian Poetry Journal, Caterpillar, Meanjin, Overland, Poetry London, Poetry Review, Southerly, Westerly; and in Guillemot Press's The Creel, and elsewhere. She has been a guest poet at festivals and readings in London, Melbourne, Canberra, and little towns around Australia. A poem of hers is studied in the NSW Year 12 curriculum through Education Perfect.
