Catherine De Boise - Filtered Light
Catherine De Boise, Filtered Light, 2026
Acrylic on canvas, 58x43cm, framed
Catherine De Boise is a contemporary landscape artist based on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, working primarily in acrylic. Inspired by the changing light and quiet beauty of the coastal and rural landscape, her paintings capture moments of stillness that invite viewers to pause and connect with nature.
Originally from the UK, Catherine graduated with a degree in Textile Design from the University of Derbyshire before pursuing a career in education. Although her professional path took her in a different direction, her passion for creativity remained constant and eventually led her back to painting.
Drawing inspiration from the Mornington Peninsula's coastline, wetlands and bushland, Catherine spends time exploring the landscape, gathering sketches and photographs before returning to the studio. Her work is driven by a fascination with the way light transforms the natural world, creating a sense of calm, warmth and atmosphere.
Catherine's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Victoria, including her debut solo exhibition Afterglow at Coolart Homestead. Her paintings have also been featured in Country Style magazine and are held in private collections throughout Australia.
