Isabelle Emmerton - Maria Island

$650.00

Isabelle Emmerton, Maria Island, 2025

Acrylic, 33x33cm, framed

This painting is an intimate study of a rockpool on Maria Island. The fragile coastal environment is ever-changing. I chose a close-up composition to emphasise the interactions that often go unnoticed: shifting ripples across the water’s surface, the reflections of sunlight, and the delicate shells and algae that inhabit the pool’s edges.

Isabelle is an emerging artist based in Newcastle on Awabakal land, working primarily in acrylic. Her studies in architecture and heritage conservation have become key inspirations for her work. Her practice spans a range of subjects, including still life and landscapes, with each piece grounded in a balance of observation and thoughtful composition.
