Jude Keogh, Firebox Bottle, 2026

Woodfired iron stoneware, 45.5x12.5cm

Jude Keogh is a ceramicist based in Molong, New South Wales, who creates stoneware pieces that celebrate the relationship between form and surface texture. Her formal artistic journey began at Orange TAFE, where she completed an Associate Diploma of Arts (Ceramics) in 1995. Jude then transitioned into a successful 26-year career in photography, culminating in her 2015 exhibition of pinhole photographs, Truth in Landscape, at the Orange Regional Gallery.

In 2017, Jude returned to her roots in clay. Her current practice focuses on simple, minimalist forms that serve as a canvas for her surface decorations, which are inspired by the Australian landscape. Utilizing stoneware clay, Jude explores the unpredictable beauty of atmospheric and alternative firings, specializing in woodfiring, saggar, and gas fired kiln techniques.
