Rhiannan Johnson is a mother, stepmother, wife, artist, and academic. Her creative practice interrogates and honours the everyday, with a particular focus on mundane encounters, personal comforts and discomforts, and the lived reality of traumatic experience. At present, Johnson is an Associate Professor of Creative Arts at the University of Southern Queensland, where she teaches printmaking and two-dimensional practice. She has studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and has exhibited creative works both nationally and internationally since 2007.
