Christine Moult is a Sydney-based artist working on Gamaragal land, known for her expressive alla prima oil paintings on board.
Largely self-taught, Christine brings a fresh, instinctive approach to her work, shaped by her background in food and design. She draws inspiration from the everyday, capturing fleeting moments of light, shadow and atmosphere that often go unnoticed, using loose, confident brushstrokes and a refined, harmonious palette.
"Painting, for me, is a bit like cooking," Christine says. "Instead of flavours and textures, I'm playing with objects, light and colour, moving elements around until everything feels balanced. I love painting the simple objects that have surrounded me throughout my life, as they bring back cherished memories of meals shared with family and friends."
Christine has volunteered as a guide at the Art Gallery of New South Wales since 2010, and her work has been selected for numerous exhibitions, including the National Emerging Art Prize (2023), the Affordable Art Fair Brisbane and Sydney with Aspire Gallery (2024), the Incognito Art Show (2023–2026), and Inside This Box at The Corner Store Gallery (2023, 2026), where she has also shown as a Stable Artist (2025/2026).
